the heavenly closet

When thinking about mythology, I think about the afterlife. Do you believe in an afterlife? I personally have always believed in Heaven but never felt a significant connection to someone up in Heaven until now. This clothing represents the heavenly closet of my father. I constantly wish I had one more day with him, just one, but all I have left are things like his clothing, memories, and photographs. These shirts are not just shirts; they show who he was and are a story of his life. He was a goofy, hardworking guy with a big personality, which is represented in the colorful shirts I picked out of his closet. I knew that I wanted to use cyanotypes because he absolutely loved the color blue. He did not love the dark cyanotype blue, though, which is why many of my cyanotypes have this teal or light airy look to them. When thinking of Heaven, I also think of an airy, happy, light blue sky which is another reason for the blue images. These images show the story and legacy he left behind. Even though he is not physically here on earth anymore, I believe that spiritually he is watching over me every second of every day. My father's soul is now in Heaven. He physically wore, worked in, and lived his life in these shirts, and they now have photos that represent his life story on them. I was his angel, and he now is mine. Tell your parents you love them because someday you will wish that Heaven had visiting hours.
