Eyes talk

When looking at a person, the first thing I notice is their eyes. The different colors in people's eyes fascinate me. When taking a closer look, you see more than the color. You are able to see every detail causing the eye to almost fade into a space-like object, but the viewer's eyes always focus back on the color. The color of someone’s eyes actually causes our brains to make assumptions about their personality. With brown being the most common eye color, people tend to connect brown-eyed people with the words intelligence and belonging. The next eye color is blue, which tends to give people a feeling that blue-eyed people are competitive and sexy. Then there are hazel and green eyes that give the feeling of creativity. I believe that we do not realize how we put these assumptions on others based solely on their eye color. I wanted to express eyes in a way that focused particularly on the eye and nothing else. This causes our brains to really focus on color. Every eye is unique, but our brains are still pulled to the color, which then causes us to make assumptions about the person. Everyone’s eyes tell a different story about who they are, no matter what judgments and traits we perceive off of their eye color.
